Liberty Bell Telecom Business Service HOW DID THIS ALL GET STARTED? For several years the telecom industry has been going through changes with the objective of bringing competitively priced telephone services to the end users. In May of 2002, the US Supreme Court made their ruling allowing companies like Liberty Bell Telecom to effectively compete for your local telephone service thus giving the incumbent carrier a run for their money. Liberty Bell Telecom is now economically "leasing" the main carrier's telephone lines as well as supporting technology and passing the savings on to you. WHAT’S GOING TO CHANGE AND WHAT’S NOT? By choosing Liberty Bell Telecom for your local phone service, there is no physical change of service. Your telephone number will remain the same and your calling features, with the exception of voicemail, remain unchanged. Those features that you never use can be removed. Voicemail will undergo some slight changes. The keystrokes you use to manage your messages are still very simple, but slightly different. Within minutes you’ll be an expert. The most notable change will come in the areas of Customer Service and your monthly bill. More on these in a minute. WHAT’S GOING TO BE MY NEW COST? The simple answer is – less than you’re presently paying. Business line costs will be reduced by 15% while residential lines will be discounted 5%. Features that you have on your lines – business or residential – will receive a 50% discount (with the exception of voicemail and DSL, which will remain the same as you’re currently paying). Since many customers were sold packages by their carrier, we will have the opportunity to "unbundle" these to arrive at a your new cost. Taxes vary based on the base cost for your service and features, so these too will become less as the service costs go down. Using these factors, you can estimate your new, lower cost for your phone service. If you need help arriving at this estimate – please call Liberty Bell Telecom Customer Service. WHAT ABOUT LONG DISTANCE? If you are a current Liberty Bell Telecom long distance user or elect to switch your long distance service to Liberty Bell Telecom as you change to our local service, your calls within the continental U.S. will cost only 4¢ per minute and intrastate calls (Colorado) 5.5¢ per minute. Liberty Bell Telecom’s international rates are also hard to beat (e.g., Western Europe for under 10¢ per minute). WHAT ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE? This is where Liberty Bell Telecom shines. A Liberty Bell Telecom Customer Service Representative will answer your calls during normal business hours (8am-5pm, Mountain Time) – not an auto attendant. After hours, if you need to talk with a Customer Service Representative, leave a message and a Customer Service Representative will return your call within 20 minutes. Our Customer Service Staff is empowered to fix problems on the spot or they will become your personal contact if other resources need to be brought in to address your issue. We will be talking to the carrier to resolve your issues – not you. Call Toll Free 1-866-664-BELL. WHAT’S MY BILL GOING TO LOOK LIKE? Of course your new local service bill will look somewhat different than your prior bills – but you’re going to like it. First off – it will be less than your current bill. It’s clean, concise, large print – easy to read. Many of our customers prefer to have their bills emailed to them. Should you have any questions about your bill, Liberty Bell Telecom Customer Service is only a phone call away - Toll Free 1-866-664-BELL. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO MAKE THE CHANGE? Once you’re ready to change to Liberty Bell Telecom Local Service, you will need to submit your request using a Letter Of Authorization (LOA) form. Either download the form from the web or one can be provided by calling Customer Service. Your request must be on this specific form since the Utilities Commission regulates changing your local service. This form lets us know what numbers you will be changing to Liberty Bell Telecom. Once we have your LOA form, we’ll take it from there. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? Normally it takes about a week to implement the change. If there is any need for clarification or issues arise, Customer Service will give you a call. We will take a look at your current service and features to insure that we duplicate what you are currently using. If you are a voicemail user, we will send you an instruction sheet that let’s you set up your new voicemail service even before your local service is changed. Once everything is in place, the change will be implemented. You will not notice anything different until you get your first Liberty Bell Telecom Local Service bill. This bill will be for the balance of the current month and the next full month of service. You will receive a notice from your carrier that your service has been discontinued and a refund check for the balance of the current month will be sent out. WHAT IF I STILL HAVE QUESTIONS? If after reading this overview you still have questions, please call Liberty Bell Telecom Customer Service (Toll Free 1-866-664-BELL) during normal business hours and one of our Customer Service Representatives will be happy to answer your remaining questions.
